My iMac
April 12, 2008 by matthewbyrnes
Just fixed my iMac. Of course, it had to die one day after getting back! It started the first eve we got home and we were able to check email and do a few other things. However, next morning it did not start. I pressed the start button and all it would do is make a chirping sound and flash the light at me
I immediately thought… power supply, but I decided to double check. I used the ipod Touch to get online and found a troubleshooting document. It said to plug it in and check the LEDs on the inside. I did the check and it looked like I was right. I decided to take a chance, buy a power supply and fix it myself. The Mac Doctor, here in Cruces, wanted $125 for the part, plus $60 p/h, to fix it… and he would not be able to get to it for a couple/three weeks!
Screw that! I took the chance, bought the new power supply online for $99(which is still a ripoff but the best i could find) and BANG, ZOOM, BOB’S YER UNCA!
Fixed! Thank goodness. May not seem like a big deal but to someone completely made of thumbs it is a major accomplishment.
